Jack Ma is Opening Alibaba Malaysia Office in Kuala Lumpur’s Bangsar South commercial district on Monday, June 18th.
After cancelling this trip to Kuala Lumpur a few weeks ago, Jack Ma is back in Malaysia to open Alibaba’s first office in Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur on Monday June 18th, 2018.
It was reported that he arrived Malaysia over the weekend and have met Malaysia’s Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng in the city on Sunday.
It’s an interesting time for Jack Ma to be back in Kuala Lumpur because all the initial plans were driven by the previous government which was leaning heavily towards China. Some of the government related projects such as the (East Coast Railway Line) ECRL became controversial.
Some of Alibaba’s biggest planned projects in Malaysia are the Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) near Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Alibaba City Brain Project with Kuala Lumpur City Hall to implement smart traffic lights and CCTV cameras.
Alibaba’s new office will be at Bangsar South, the new name for Kampung Kerinchi and it’s home to many local and global technology companies.
