How to Fill-in forms in Word 2007

I received a form in Word 2007 format recently but was having trouble filling it in electronically because the form was not locked. In Word 2003, you can lock or unlock the form quite easily. However, in Word 2007, it will take a few clicks to lock the form. Here’s how:

1. Near the Home tab, click on the customise toolbar button (1) shown below followed by More Commands (2).

2. In the Word Options window, go to Customize (1). On the Choose commands from drop down list, select All Commands (2).

3. Scroll down mid way and look for ‘Lock (1).’ Click Add (2) and OK.

4. You should see the the ‘Lock’ icon on the toolbar now. Click it to lock the form.

5. Now you can start filling in the form.
